I have styled my console tables so many different ways over the years, and today I’m sharing 3 of my favorites. I’m also sharing decor I love to use, along with a few tips. 3 console table decorating ideas you will love is coming your way!
1. baskets below, large mirror above

In the first look I have a large mirror above and baskets below, which balances out the vignette. These baskets are huge and can hold a lot. Perfect for extra pillows and blankets, but also shoes, winter accessories, towels, bedding, umbrellas, etc.
Next, I added a table lamp, and opposite that on the console table, a large crock filled with faux greenery. In the center I topped a favorite coffee table book with a concrete bowl. Find a similar concrete bowl here.

The beautiful artwork is done by Anna Luetke. You can find here Instagram page here.
2. extra seating & oversized artwork

In look number two, I have balanced the oversized artwork above the console table with upholstered stools below. Again, I balanced a table lamp with an oversized pot and preserved eucalyptus stems. My pot is older, but you can find a similar pot here.
I love to place a small dish on a few books in an entryway. Perfect spot for keys and a pair of sunglasses.
Lastly, I added a candle & wick trimmer.

I love to add stools to a console table moment for both a living room and entryway. In the entryway, it’s a nice spot for guest to be able to sit to take their shoes off. And in the living room, the stools are super handy for extra seating.
3. No table lamp, no problem

For the 3rd option, I wanted to show you how to decorate a console table without a table lamp.
Same balancing principle as above, but instead of a table lamp, use a few candleholders and some leaning artwork opposite the crock & faux stems.

And I finished off the last look with a couple of coffee table books topped with a decorative vase.

console table styling tips:
Did you catch a theme from above? Balance. Balance is the word of the day when styling console tables. Balance the top with the bottom, as well as left to right. A large mirror or artwork above means a large basket, stool or ottoman looks great below. If you have a table lamp on one side, add some height with a large vase or candleholders on the opposite side!
But really my number 1 tip should be to just have fun with it. Pull out all of your decor and start playing around. I don’t just stumble upon these vignettes, it is a lot of trial and error. Placing a few things, moving a few things, adding, taking away, etc.
Note: All of the tips above work for decorating your bedroom dresser too!
