Hi there!

My name is Kaari Sommer (pronounced Carrie Summer.)  I live in Oregon (born & raised,) with my husband, Tom, and our daughter, Campbell. 

My Background

A little bit about me- my husband and I have bought, renovated, and/or built 6 houses over the last 20 years.  We started with a tiny fixer-upper in 1999 with almost no money and no clue of what we were doing.  Turns out you can figure stuff out along the way (especially when you have a handy husband!)  We built our current house in 2016, where we did a lot of the work ourselves to save money.  We have been busy making it our home ever since. 

After a couple years of being in our current home, I started to miss the process of a move and all of the excitement that comes with a new project. We had decided to stay a while in our house, and I was so accustomed to moving on to something new every few years, so I was feeling a bit unsettled. So, I decided to start an Instagram page (and eventually this blog) as a creative outlet.   I will say that when I started to focus on what I love about my home, the urge to move subsided (most days anyway!)

With this blog and website, I hope to share my love of home, decorating, styling tips, my current shopping finds and obsessions (home and non-home related,) building tips, shop my home links, and home projects we are working on- all with hopes of inspiring you to create a home you love!
