Today I’m sharing 16 of The Best Coffee Table Books & How To Style Them! I will link all 16 of my favorites at the bottom of the post.
on a coffee table:
Let’s start with the obvious one. I love to style beautiful books on my coffee table. They look pretty, add color and interest to your space, and they are always a hit with guests!

You can style them with an object stacked on top, like above. Or without, like below. The books shown here are such a great combo for spring. Pacific Natural is a new favorite of mine, and Interiors Atelier is one I’ve had for several years and still love!

A few more examples of how I style my coffee table with books:

on a side table:
Another great place to style a coffee table book in your main living space is on a side table. Below, I have styled the side table very simply with two books and a large vase to add height and a bit more interest to the table.

On the side table shown below, I have again styled it with two books and a vase; however, I added some greenery and a couple of decorative objects. As you can see, you can keep it simple, or add a few more pieces to the side table, depending on which you prefer.

on occasional tables:
Whether it be on a console or sofa table, coffee table books are a great choice for decor. On the console table below, I have styled two of my newer favorites with a marble box stacked on top of it.

On the console table in the next picture, I have used a different type of decorative object for a different look.

In the third and final console table, shown below, I have kept it very simple with an empty bud vase perched on the two books.

in a bedroom:
There are a couple different places in a bedroom I love to add coffee table books. The first being a dresser. Below, you will see I stacked a box on top of the books to add some texture to the vignette.

On the nightstand shown below, I stacked fresh flowers in a small vase on top of the books. Add a candle and bedside table lamp, and you have the perfect nightstand! By the way, the two books I have stacked below are one of my very favorite combinations!

On the next nightstand I have stacked books on one of the open shelves. Depending on the height of your shelf, you may even have room to stack a small object on your books.

I also love to style books in kids’ spaces. As you will see below, I have some pretty children’s books (perfect for my daughter to read at some point,) but it is also decor on top of her dresser.

on bookshelves:
Whether you have a small bookcase, a cabinet, or open shelving somewhere, you can always add interest and height to your shelves with books! As you can see by the photo below, I love to stack them horizontally as well as vertically.

If stacking them horizontally, I love to place an object on top. Below, I have stacked boxes, small canisters and even an empty vase. When stacking vertically, I will often use an object to help them stand up. Think outside the box, it doesn’t have to be a bookend! I have used vases filled with fresh flowers, empty vases, small potted faux plants, small decorative objects, and even frames (like shown above in my daughter’s room.)
