Decor I Love To Use When Styling A Console Table

March 19, 2022 Home Decor

When I’m styling one of my console tables, I almost always use the same types of items. Today I’m sharing those items with you! Decor I love to use when styling a console table! Bonus- sharing 100 of my favorite console table decor pieces at the bottom of the post.

If you have questions about where something below is from, you can shop my home here. (Most of what I’m sharing below is also included in the roundup at the bottom of the post.)

The live edge console table is from World Market, and you can find it here.

The lighter wood console table is from Target, and you can find it here.

1. Artwork & Mirrors

If your console table is up against a wall, I love to hang a large piece of artwork or large mirror above. If hanging a mirror, I love to add artwork to the table as well- either leaning, or on a stand like above. You can read all about where I love to shop for artwork here. My mirror is older from Pottery Barn, but you can find an almost identical mirror here. The artwork is custom from Anna Ellen Art. You can find her Instagram page here.

2. Coffee Table Books

Coffee table books are such a great item to use when styling a console table. They are so great alone, or stack a decorative object, small vase, or candle on them. It adds another layer of height to the table, which I love. Read all about my favorite coffee table books here. You can find the coffee table books above here & here.

3. Large Pots & Vases

Another type of item I almost always use when styling a console table is a large pot or vase. I love to fill them with fresh or faux greenery or flowers. You can find the pot above here. P.S. it is actually a pickle jar 🙂 !

4. Small Vases & Decorative Objects

Next, I love to have small vases and decorative objects on hand when styling my tables. They are like the cherry on top of the sundae! The little pot above is no longer available, but this little vase is almost identical in size. So is this option. Both perfect for stacking on books.

5. Flowers & Greenery

I’m not sure I have ever styled a console table without fresh or faux greenery or flowers. Most of the year, I use faux greenery, but during the spring and summer months I love to sprinkle in some fresh flowers, like shown above (#4.) The faux stems above are my go-to! I’ve had them for years, and they are the best!

6. Baskets

Baskets are such a great item to use as decor throughout your home! I love them under a console table for extra storage (decorative or not.) You can read all about How To Decorate With Baskets here.

7. Bowls

Bowls are another item I love to add to my console tables. Use them functionally as a drop spot for keys, sunglasses, mail, etc. The bowl above is no longer available, but you can find different options that I love here & here.

8. Stools & Ottomans

Below a console table, I love to add stools. I find it balances out the artwork or mirror above, and gives you extra seating at the same time! You can find the stools above here.

9. Lighting

And last, but definitely not least, is lighting. I don’t always use a table lamp (you can see different options above where I didn’t,) but I love the height it adds to the space when I do. When I do add one, I love to offset the height by adding an oversized pot or vase on the opposite side, like above. You can find the lamp above here, and the oversized pot here.
