Decorating With Coffee Table Books:
1. the obvious one – on a coffee table
I love to style decorative books on my coffee tables in a couple of different ways.
One way to do it is inside a basket, like above. Here I have two offsetting coffee table book stacks inside of an oversized coffee table basket.
Or, do a mix of inside and outside a basket, like below.
Lastly, you can keep it simple and add a large coffee table book next to a stack of boxes and a basket filled with a few pieces of decor.
p.s. the trio of decor pieces above is perfect if you have a round coffee table

2. decorating with coffee table books on a bedside table
Coffee table books are the perfect item to fill up a large space on a bedside table shelf.
You can style them with or without anything stacked on top.
I also love to style them on top of a nightstand for an added layer of height.
For even more nightstand decor inspiration, you can read my blog post here: How To Decorate A Nightstand.
3. display your coffee table books on a dresser
Another great place in a bedroom for a stack of coffee table books is on your dresser!
You could top the stack with a decorative object(s) like above, or leave it as a simple stack like below.

4. books as decor on a console or sofa table
A stack of coffee table books topped with a decorative object always works on a console table.
As far as decorative objects, think vases, candles, small baskets, pots, artwork.
Or for a simpler look, leave the stack alone, like below.

5. decorating with coffee table books on a cabinet or sideboard
This one is similar to a console or sofa table.
You could have a cabinet or sideboard in a living room, entryway, office, or dining room, and adding a stack of books with or without an object on top is a simple way to add a piece of decor.
6. coffee table books displayed on open shelves or a bookcase
There are several different ways you can style books on your bookcase.
You can lean them against the wall stacking an object against them to use as a bookend, like the shot above.
Or, stack your coffee table books horizontally, and top the stack with a decorative object, like below.
Lastly, turn the spines around on your book and display them backward with a pair of bookends, like below.
You can read all about how to easily decorate your bookshelves in this blog post: How To Style A Built-In Bookcase.
7. display your coffee table books on a side table
My go-to way of styling a side table is with a stack of books topped with a candle & wick trimmer.
You can also leave the stack alone, or top with with a few coasters, so your guests know not to set their drinks on the book!

8. decorating with coffee table books on a desk
And last, but definitely not least, don’t forget about your office space!
I love a stack of books topped with a personal photo, like above.
Or, top it with a decorative object, like below. Both versions add height and interest to the desk!
