Today I’m sharing 11 Ideas For Decorating With Faux Greenery! I use faux plants and greenery everywhere. Like in every room of my house. I have tried for years to make the real thing work for me, and it doesn’t. And, I don’t have the desire to try harder at making it work either. So, I transitioned my house to faux a couple of years ago, and never looked back.
There is obviously a benefit to having the real thing, and if you can make it work, hats off to you for sure! I wish I had a green thumb living in the house tending to beautiful, real-life plants, but I don’t, so faux it is for me! Read on to see how (and where) I use my faux greenery!
decorating a coffee table:

I love to add a small pot filled with greenery to my basket on my coffee table. It adds interest and texture, as well as height to the table. The Artificial Boston Fern Plant From Target is what is shown above.
faux greenery on a console table

I add greenery to my console tables several different ways. Above, I have added a faux plant to an oversized pot. Tip: Add coasters to the bottom of the pot to elevate the plant. It will appear the plant is far more substantial. The fern above is the same fern shown on my coffee table; however, you would never guess, right?

Another way I love to add faux greenery to my console tables is by adding faux stems to a large vase, like shown above. I have (3) Faux Green Petal Leaf Branches in the vase above.

Lastly, a small pot filled with greenery stacked on a few home decor books, like shown above, is a great way to add greenery to a console table. Above, I have styled a Faux Fern Drop-In inside this Golden Cement Pot.

Like a console table, a piano is the perfect place for a few pots and some faux stems. I love the look of two pots, one styled empty with the other filled with greenery. Above, I’m using 3 of these Faux Stems
faux greenery on shelves

I love to add a few faux plants to my open shelves. Above, I am using the same Faux Fern Drop-in as above, but in a different pot.

Mixing your faux plants in with fresh flowers (and/or fresh greenery) creates the perfect mix. Above, I have styled a small faux plant on books, as well as a bigger one inside a larger basket. Again, I’m using the coaster trick I mentioned above. The fresh flowers bring a nice spring-like look to the space! This 3-Pack Of Mini Potted Plants has one that is similar to what I have used above in the basket.

Tip: When styling faux plants on your open shelves, use varying plant types and sizes. Also vary how you style them- for example, inside a small pot, larger basket, or stacked on books.
adding greenery to a laundry room or bathroom

Even if you do have a green thumb, a laundry room or bathroom may be a great spot for a faux plant, since often these spaces do not have any natural light. Above, I have styled this Faux Paper Pot Fern inside this Whitewash Ridge Pot.

In my daughter’s bathroom, shown above, I have styled a faux plant on her stool. A fun addition to her bathroom! If you have room in your bathroom, I love faux plants on a countertop as well.
faux greenery on a dresser

Another place that is the perfect spot for oversized faux stems is a dresser. Above, I have styled these affordable Artificial Eucalyptus Stems inside a large vase.

You don’t have to have a large area in order to bring in greenery to a bedroom space. A cute pink pot filled with greenery is the perfect addition to my daughter’s dresser, shown above. Kids’ spaces are the perfect place for a no-maintenance faux plant!
decorating a nightstand

Another perfect spot in a bedroom for faux greenery is the nightstand. A small potted faux plant is the perfect addition to a bedside table. The one I have above is no longer available; however, this affordable Artificial Boxwood is a great alternative.
side tables

A small bud vase, coasters and a faux plant in a pot makes the perfect (and simple) decor for the side table, shown above. Using items of varying heights makes this combo work.

faux greenery in dining room

In my dining room, shown above, I have oversized faux stems in a large pot. Mine are several years old, and no longer available; however, these Faux Larkspur Stems would be perfect for the same wild look.
faux greenery in the kitchen

The last place I love to style faux greenery in my home is in my kitchen. You don’t have to have a large space to bring in some greenery, as shown above. I have this Faux Fern in this Pot as a bookend to my cookbooks. This Faux Basil Drop-In looks incredibly real, and would fun styled in a kitchen.
If you missed it, earlier this week I shared a roundup of all of my favorite faux greenery. You can find that post here: 19 Of The Best Faux Plants & Branches
