If you have ever wondered how to style a console table, you have come to the right place!
I’m sharing two completely different console table styling ideas, both of which will work for a living room console table as well as an entryway or dining room console table.
And the best part? They are both super easy console decorating ideas that you can recreate in your own home!
console table decor with a mirror
For this living room console table, I have a mirror above and square ottomans below.
You could also do baskets below, or a combination of the two if you would rather. You can see an example here.
As you can see, this console table I styled without a table lamp. Instead, I styled an oversized pot filled with hydrangeas on one side to add height.
And on the opposite side, I have styled a leaning piece of artwork.
Lastly, I layered in a stack of coffee table books and a wood bowl to add a few more layers of interest and height.

console table decor with artwork
For the second look I have an oversized piece of artwork above the console table, and a basket filled with pillows beside it.
You can also style a stool or ottoman next to the table if you would rather. You can see an example here.
On one side of the table, I styled a table lamp along with another piece of artwork styled on an easel.
You can shop a bunch of my favorite artwork in this blog post: 24 pieces of artwork I’m loving right now.
Opposite of the lamp I styled a tall vase filled with faux stems, along with a stack of coffee table books.
tips for styling a console table:
- Add a large mirror or artwork above
- Balance out the large object above the table with something below like an ottoman, stool or basket
- Layer in different heights on the console table with items like vases, pots and table lamps, small bowls & baskets
- A stack of coffee table books is always a good idea
- Add leaning artwork or artwork styled on an easel. This lets you add color and personality to the vignette.
