How To Decorate A Small Kitchen

March 5, 2022 Home Decor

Sharing tips on how you can add decor to a small kitchen.

Our kitchen isn’t huge, and the space available for decorating is pretty small. But that doesn’t stop me from bringing in decor. I just have to think smarter. Like using more functional decor, which is my favorite! Today I’m sharing all about how to decorate a small kitchen. Bonus- sharing the pieces I love at the bottom of the post.

decor ideas for a small kitchen:

add artwork:

I love to add leaning artwork to my countertop. It’s a great way to bring in new decor each season!

Another great way to add artwork to your kitchen is above your range. I have the above artwork hanging using command stickers, which makes it easy to remove!

add some new dish towels

I keep my dish towels pretty neutral, because that’s what I love, but if you like color, this is a great place to use it!

add flowers and/or greenery

Add fresh flowers to a small vase or crock, and use it as a bookend for your cookbooks!

No fresh flowers? Use a faux plant, like above, instead!

add pretty canisters to your countertop

Pretty canisters filled with everyday items are a great way to decorate your small kitchen. On our countertop we always have our flour & oatmeal out in glass canisters; olive oil in a pretty Farmhouse Pottery bottle; a ceramic crock filled with cooking utensils; wood salt & pepper shaker set. Saves cabinet space and looks nice while doing so.

add a wood tray & pretty soap dispensers

You need dish & hand soap in a kitchen, right? Why not display them in a pretty way? (You can find my dispensers here.) Bonus, use THESOMMERHOME15 for 15% off your order!

more functional decor

I keep the pot and the wood cutting boards above out on the stove year-round, both because it saves us space in our smaller kitchen, and because they look pretty sitting out. Bonus- they are readily accessible when I need to use them!
