Simple ways to decorate with baskets, all while using them to stay organized.
Today I’m sharing all about how to decorate with baskets! It is one of my favorite pieces of decor to have in each of my spaces. They bring interest and texture, but also allow for extra storage & organization. Bonus- sharing a roundup of my favorite baskets at the bottom!

1. baskets as decor & storage in your main living areas

I have several baskets throughout my main living spaces. I love to have one near an accent chair for all of our magazines & catalogs. Our basket above is older, but this Target version is similar. Also love this round handmade basket.

I almost always style my coffee table with a basket on top. Baskets are so great for a coffee table to corral remote controls, coasters, and maybe some pretty flowers & a book or magazines! I normally have our remote control and coasters in the basket above!
I also have used this basket on my coffee table, which I LOVE. It’s currently on major sale, which sadly means it is likely being discontinued! You can see it styled here.

I also love baskets for extra pillows & throw blankets. I rotate both each season, and the extras always go in my baskets! I love to have one next to a couch. You can find the basket above here.

I also love a couple under a console table, like above. Don’t have room under a console table? Style one next to it. Find the baskets from Target here.
2. baskets as decor & storage in your home office

Baskets on a desk are great for extra office supplies. Stack one next to the desk for magazines or paperwork. I love this set of 3 cane baskets. I have used them for desk accessories, plants, and even styled them empty.
And if you have room, a basket filled with extra pillows/blankets is always a nice addition.

If you have a bookshelf or open shelving in your office, I love a basket filled with any sort of office supplies tucked away on a shelf. It looks pretty and offers extra storage.
The basket shown above is older, but this basket from The Container Store would make a good substitute. And for a splurge option, this leather basket is amazing!
3. baskets as decor & storage in your laundry room

If you have a countertop or shelf in your laundry room, I love to fill baskets with extra cleaning supplies, rags or dryer balls. The baskets above are no longer available, but I’m loving this set of 3 as an option. These wire stacking baskets are a good substitute for our wire baskets.
4. baskets as decor & storage in your mudroom

Place a basket next to a bench in a mudroom for shoes as you enter the house! Also love them for winter accessories & umbrellas!
5. baskets as decor & storage in your bedrooms

Baskets in the bedrooms are so perfect for extra linens & blankets! The basket above is no longer sold, but this Pottery Barn option is a great substitute. Also love this basket.

I also think baskets are great if you have room on your bedside table. Perfect for books, magazines, glasses, hand cream, etc. The baskets above can be found here.
6. baskets as decor & storage in your kitchen

I use baskets in my kitchen for everything from fruits & veggies to extra linens to seasonal items stored away in my cabinets. This Amber Lewis x Anthropologie basket is perfect for a large island. Bonus- it’s on sale!
7. baskets as decor & storage in an entryway

In our entryway above, I’m obviously using the baskets for extra pillows. But, that definitely doesn’t have to be the case! They are so good for shoes, umbrellas & cold weather accessories!
8. baskets as decor & storage in kids’ spaces

And last, but definitely not least, baskets in kids’ spaces! The basket above in my daughter’s room is filled to the top with stuffed animals! Use them for books, toys, extra bedding & more!
