Is your living room ready for a refresh? Same. Sharing my favorite ways to give subtle updates to your living room for spring.
I’ve had the same colors in my living room since Christmas. Green & berry. Actually since November when I photographed for Christmas. I did a winter refresh in January, but kept those two colors, and now I’m over them both. Time for a refresh! But you know what? When I started planning it, I realized I’m not quite ready for the whole “spring” colors thing yet. So I made a few subtle changes, and am so happy with the new look. Today I’m sharing how to refresh your living room for spring even if you aren’t ready for the typical spring colors.

how to refresh your living room for spring:

1. update your living room with pillows

As I mentioned above, I’m not quite ready to go full-on spring in my home. But I added a few pillows with some subtle spring details like the two floral pillows above.

And this neutral pillow with subtle teal floral details.

Again, no need to go all-out in spring colors if you aren’t ready for it. Subtle is good! Switch your pillows around, bring pillows in from a different room, or add to your collection with a few new ones. All are great for getting a new, refreshed look.
My favorite places to shop for new pillows:
- Target
- Etsy. Find the pillows from my spring living room at this Etsy shop.
- Pottery Barn
2. update your living room for spring with artwork

Make a statement by changing out your larger pieces of artwork for spring.

Even easier? Change out the smaller pieces on your occasional tables and bookcases/open shelves.

3. update your living room coffee table decor

Buy a new basket, rotate your coffee table books, add a vase filled with fresh or faux flowers, add a cute dish or new coasters. These are all simple ways to give your coffee table a new look.
4. update your living room console table decor

Have a console or sofa table? Fill your baskets with new pillows or throw blankets, add a leaning piece of artwork, add a pot or vase filled with flowers or greenery. These are several of the ways I gave my console table a refresh for March.

5. add a basket to a corner

I normally have a wood stool as a side table in this corner. For spring I instead brought in a basket from another room. I didn’t buy anything, but now I have a refreshed corner of my living room. I added a blanket and pillow I already had as well. So, buy a new basket for a corner of your living room, or better yet, shop your own home for the perfect one.
