Here are 40 of my favorite inexpensive throw pillows. I’m also sharing simple ways to make the perfect pillow combos!
Last week for my Pillow Combo Friday, I shared 16 inexpensive throw pillows under $40. It was so fun finding the 16 that I was looking for, that I knew I needed to do a blog post rounding up even more. All 40 will be linked at the bottom of the post!

The pillow combo above is one of my favorite combinations! It’s always popular with my readers, and it is personally a favorite of mine as well. Sadly, it is not making my inexpensive pillow list. So, I set out to find a more affordable dupe! And, sure enough, I succeeded!

The 22″ Green Striped Pillow Cover, shown above, comes in a 2-pack for $37! Pair it with this 20″ Geometric Print Pillow, and a Blue Woven Pillow for the perfect combo! This is an example of a simple pillow combo that seems to always work for me- a large stripe, small stripe, and a geometric print.
Tip- when combining 3 printed pillows, ensure the patterns are of varying sizes.
To change the look of the combo above, remove the blue pillow and bring in this Solid Velvet Lumbar in black, dusty rose, camel, orange or another fun or neutral color. That’s the great thing about this combo, you can remove one of the pillows for a completely different look!

Another simple pillow combo formula that I love to use is a solid, stripe & floral.

This 24″ Linen Throw Pillow is $30 & comes in several colors! It is perfect with this $20 Striped Pillow, and this Floral Lumbar. All three of these pillows are from Target and come with inserts!
Don’t like blue? I’m loving this 24″ Neutral Pillow paired with this Neutral Stripe & Green Floral Lumbar Pillow. Such a pretty combo for spring!
Tip- when combining pillows, vary the sizes as well as the prints! A 24″, 20″ & lumbar is one of my favorite size combinations.
Below, find the perfect affordable pillow combo for a sofa! These are all from the new Studio McGee for Target Summer Collection!

Tip- when combining several patterned pillows, I like to start with the most colorful pillow, and then pull colors from that pillow to use with the other pillows. For example, above, the floral pillow has neutrals, greens & reds which are also found in the other pillows.

Another great sofa combo!

This combo has a solid, plaids & stripes. Notice that this combo works because of the similar colors running through each pillow- blues, creams & neutrals. Also, the size of the patterns are different on the two plaids as well as the stripes.
Tip: I often size up with my inserts. For example, if I have a 20″ pillow, I will buy a 22″ insert. Also, if I buy a pillow that comes with an insert, I will often times remove the insert it came with and fill it with on of my own inserts. It gives a much more-high end look, but definitely not required! These Pottery Barn Down Feather Pillow Inserts are what I use in all of my pillow covers.
