If you ask me, small bedrooms are the best to decorate! You don’t have to buy a lot of furniture, and just a few pieces can easily make the space. Today I’m sharing 9 simple small bedroom ideas you will love!

1. layered bedding
Layered bedding is a great way to add texture, colors, warmth & interest to a small bedroom, because it doesn’t take up any more space!

Here are the layers of bedding on the queen bed above.
- sheet set
- quilt
- at the foot of the bed I add 1-2 additional bedding layers folded – bed blankets, quilt, duvet & insert, throw blanket
- (4) sleeping pillows
- (2) 24″ pillows
- (1) lumbar pillow
2. bedside table decor
Even if you have room for only one nightstand in the space, it still gives you a fun spot to decorate!

3. pretty throw pillows
This is one of my favorite ways to add personality to a small bedroom.
You could splurge on a few neutral pillows you have out year-round.

4. artwork
Add artwork to a blank wall, above a bed or on a bedside table.

5. don’t forget the end of bed
Even in our small guest bedroom, we found room for two ottomans at the foot of the bed!

6. lighting
You can completely change the style of a bedside table by the lighting you choose!
For a more modern look, go for a swing-arm table lamp!

7. add an accent chair
Tip- for small spaces, choose a dining room chair like I did for our small guest bedroom above!

8. window treatments
I love the layered look of adding drapery over window shades when possible! They bring an extra layer of texture, color & warmth to the space.
9. area rug
And I saved a favorite for last, my friends! And it’s the all-important area rug!
They add coziness and warmth, and you can even layer them over carpet!
