We just finished up a mini makeover in our primary bedroom, and today I’m sharing all of the details! Our bedroom is really quite small, so it was so fun to make just a few simple changes for a really big impact! Small bedroom makeover: before & after coming your way!
the rug that started the makeover

When Amber Lewis x Loloi Rugs reached out wanting to send me a new rug for their launch, I couldn’t have replied any faster! I chose the Georgie Rug in Antique Ivory/Teal, and as soon as I did, I knew we would have to make some other changes! Which, by the way, was super exciting for me, because I’ve been wanting a new look in our bedroom, but just kept putting it off.

As you can see from the above before photo, we didn’t previously have an area rug in our room. I’m so in love with the warmness our new rug brings to the space. I couldn’t be any happier with my choice.
new artwork

I knew the black and white artwork (shown below) would have to go, and it was so fun to find a new Vintage Art Print to go with my rug. I always get my digital art prints printed at Mpix.com. I do their giclée print on their fine art paper. (I had it framed at a local frame shop.)

As you can see from the before photo above, we previously didn’t have any artwork above our bed. Instead, we had two coordinating pieces above each of our nightstands. I’m loving the new artwork look!

new bedside table decor

For the makeover, we kept most of our furniture, including our two bedside tables. I decided to take out the baskets (shown below in the before photo,) and restyle the shelves for a brand new look!

Although I did like the baskets for storage, I’m really happy with the decision to swap them out for different decor.

new corner chair

I mentioned above that we kept most of our furniture for this makeover. The one exception was this corner Pottery Barn Chair. I’m loving the warmness it adds to the space. And, it’s the perfect size for our small bedroom. (Our chair is the vintage caramel leather.)

new dresser styling

The dresser and mirror stayed the same, but it’s amazing how it looks so much different than the before photo below. I added a leaning piece of Artwork, framed with an affordable Target Frame, a Crock filled with Faux Stems, and a few other decor pieces.
I also switched out the natural Pouf for a darker colored Basket I already had.

new bedding & pillows

I am so happy with our new bedding in this space. As you can see from before, we had a white duvet cover, and I think the new changes really add to the warmth of the space. Bonus- the bedding was super affordable! The Duvet Cover set is on sale for $75 down from $200! The Euro Shams are on sale as well!
And the cute little berry pillow is just the perfect cherry on top!

I hope you all enjoyed the before & after photos our our small bedroom makeover! As always, if you have any questions, feel free to leave them below!

I love your bed. Can you tell me the make / where you bought it?
Hi Sandra,
The bed is over 10 years old from Pottery Barn, and no longer sold. Here are a couple that are similar.
