You guys, the other day I was looking for this blog post to refer back to on a different post I was writing. After searching for it for a while, I realized I never wrote the post! Oops! So, this post is a long time coming 🙂 ! I still wanted to write it, so I could have it to refer back to, but also so I can have all of the sources in one spot for you all! So, better late than never, small bedroom makeover before and after photos coming at you!
Our guest bedroom has gone through several transformations since moving in. First, it was a glorified storage room (you know the room that you don’t have put together, so it becomes the room where you throw everything in to?)

Well that was our guest bedroom for (embarrassing enough) a couple of years! And then I did the One Room Challenge and transformed the storage room into an actual bedroom. Which I loved!
We enjoyed that look for a while, and then I found myself ready for another change. Nothing major, just a few tweaks of the space. And that is where we find ourselves today. A mini makeover in our small guest bedroom.
small bedroom makeover: the before

Now, there was obviously nothing wrong with the before! It’s a beautiful bedroom that I loved.

But I was just ready for a few subtle changes.

And maybe a little color?!?

small guest bedroom makeover: the after

I wanted the guest bedroom to feel a bit warmer, a bit moodier, all while keeping the clean & white feel to it. I think I accomplished it with just a couple of changes.
1. artwork:

I added Farmstead from Collection Prints above the bed. That was the first thing I purchased when I started thinking of the mini makeover in the space.
2. a new rug:

Next, I found this Loloi rug and knew it would be amazing with the artwork. I knew all along that I would be keeping the bedding and leather ottomans, so whatever rug I decided on had to work with both. This option I found to be perfect. Side note- as I’m writing this the rug is on major sale! 8×10 is $201 down from $343! I have the Olive/Charcoal.
3. lighting:

I added these affordable Target table lamps to my bedside tables, and I love the rustic look of them. I originally wanted these lamps from Amber Interiors, and at the last minute found the Target option and saved myself SO much money!

4. new pillows:

And to complete the makeover, I added a few new pillows to the space!

I’m completely in love with the black and green color combo!
You can find the pillows here: green pillow, black geometric print pillow, striped pillow.
And I even added a new wool pillow to my corner chair!
