I love the fresh feeling of going back to neutral earth tones after having my more colorful Christmas decor up for so long. But even though I may be craving a more neutral look come January, I still like it to feel warm, cozy and most importantly, un-boring!

cozy textiles

Adding cozy throw blankets and pillows in warm colors throughout your spaces after the holiday decor comes down is a sure way to add warmth to any space!

I’m loving the combo of browns, creams and muted teal I used for the pillow combination above. Again, it feels nice to go back to a simple, neutral look after the holidays.

And you can shop a roundup of more affordable pillow colors perfect for winter here.

Add a cozy throw blanket to the back of a chair, arm of a sofa, foot of a bed, or in a basket, like above!
greenery

Eucalyptus is a great replacement for your holiday greenery! Filling a vase or pot with greenery in each of your spaces makes it feel a little less bare after the tree comes down.
Think console tables, bookcases, coffee tables, dining room table or even a nightstand. All can benefit from a touch of green!

artwork

If you have been reading my blog for any amount of time, you know artwork is one of my very favorite things to switch out with the change of a season.
And winter is no different!
Some years I feel like keeping my holiday prints up through winter, and some years (like this year) I’m ready for a change.
Either way, you can definitely warm up a space with a new art print or two!
The artwork above is custom, but you can shop my favorite winter prints here.
And I have a blog post with a bunch of my artwork favorites that you can find here.
a substitute for twinkle lights

Replace the glow of your twinkle lights with real or LED candles, along with accent lighting like table & floor lamps!

I love to turn on the lamps throughout my home when it starts to get dark this time of year! Gives a cozy, warm vibe.
I hope you found my tips for decorating after Christmas helpful!
